REBECCA TAYLOR

Normally I am immediately drawn to anything 3.1 Phillip Lim, Acne and Alexander Wang but my fickle teenage mind tends to drift and Rebecca Taylor’s s/s 11 collection is b e a uuutiful. So feminine and romantic. Maybe it’s the simplicity and lack of fuss? I don’t know, but whatever it is I love it. Whether I wear anything similar or not in the upcoming months is an entirely different matter but I thought I’d share my moment of lust with you anyway. Oh, and another thing I want to attempt this year is flares. Full on, skinny kick flares. I traipsed the Internet and high street for a pair last summer but with no luck, so I am determined to find the perfect pair this year. If anyone knows a good place to look besides dVb and Elizabeth and James please let me know and I will love you forever.

Oh and I KNOW I promised outfit posts this time around and it’s probably really boring listening to me babble on about things I’m merely interested in but this time my camera really is broken and until I can claim for it, fix it or have the money to buy another body, I’m pretty stuck. And no, I can’t half-heartedly attempt with a compact camera before you suggest such a thing. It’s just not the same.

UPDATE: I don't know whether any of you remember but I'm selling my parka from this post, so if anyone is interested, you can bid here.

PHOTO DIARY: NYC

ph. by me and a few from the lovely Emily Juliette.

One of those places I don’t think you could ever leave feeling fully satisfied. Although, despite the lack of time and money I feel we managed to cover quite a lot of such an extraordinary city (101 stores in five days, not bad). Sadly it wasn't any streetwear stores, and I will always regret that, but I didn't want to have to drag everyone around them trying to find the perfect pair of trainers as well as a pair of packer boots (which I managed to find eventually!) From pretending to be a bridesmaid for my friend’s imaginary wedding or that I can afford anything besides a keyring in Opening Ceremony to meeting an old Playboy Bunny, I had a fantastic experience and can only pray that I manage to earn my place at FIT as well as being able to afford it. There’s just so much going on no matter where you go and I would oh so love to be a part of that. One day I’m going to live in one of those gorgeous apartments with the exterior staircase fire escapes overlooking SoHo. One day.

FREJA BEHA

ph. Google

Despite perhaps being a little too skinny, there is still something incredibly sexy and mysterious about Freja, one of the most sought-after models of the moment. Maybe there is hope for the flat chested after all. My face doesn’t quite match up to the impeccably placed features and brown bambi eyes, but let a girl have some form of hope. Although I still haven’t got round to redoing mine, her tattoos make me want a million more, too. I’m not normally a fan of small, randomly placed tattoos but I love hers. Maybe I just fancy her. Hey, if she’s good enough for Karl Lagerfeld…

FLASH OF FIRE

ph. Jak & Jil, fashiontoast, Vogue.com

If you haven’t already noticed, I don’t tend to wear much colour. I’m not really sure why, I love colour. I just never seem to wear it. My wardrobe consists of mainly beige, camel, black, brown, navy, cream, white, and plenty of grey. Although recently the idea of incorporating splashes of colour to my outfits seems increasingly appealing. Still keeping things simple, just adding that little bit extra. And it seems to be red in particular. I don’t know where this came from and I don’t think I ever will, but once I had acknowledged my love for all things red I noticed an underlying trend. Shoes, bags, belts, headscarves, leather- anything. Like the sole of a Christian Louboutin shoe or the colour-equivalent to the backless dress, there’s just something so understatedly sexy about a flash of lipstick red.

OBSESSED

ph. Google, Jak & Jil, Net-a-Porter

With anything Pamela Love. I absolutely adore her personal style, choice of interior, incredible jewellery line, impressive packer boot collection and of course that beautiful name of hers.

Home from New York and just a quick post before I collapse into a deep, deep sleep. The arrival of my double cage and cross rings will probably be my only chance of waking up tomorrow...
